Wow, what a semester it has been!!! Working and studying has really kept me busy.

The start of this semester I attained a scholarship from the Australian Institute of Building, and they have been sending me to events.
I attended the AIB Construct Conference at Manly Pacific, all expenses paid!!! Yewwwwwww  Free drinks and meals both nights, and meet a whole bunch of new construction colleagues from different University’s throughout Australia. It was an experience ill never forget, and recommend every student to apply.

CAPS parties were AWESOME in Term 1.
We had a Start of Session Party on the Physics Lawn, with Northern Beaches Radio DJ’s – Mang Gang, Free BBQ, beers, goon, donuts, banners, games, the works. It was a great event to meet other people from the course I have never spoken too.

The CAPS Combo – BBQ was also a good experience on the Library Lawn!!. Brought everyone together.

Meet and Greet Night on the ground floor of Red Centre was an exceptional experience with around 20 Construction and Property companies and institutions providing career advice and work experience to all students who attended. Free finger foods, beer and wine was served with a blend of chill-out/café del mar music provided by the DJ’s!!

In update from previous blog..
I am still working at Reed, though I have moved projects from the $250mil Queens Square Law Courts project, Elizabeth St, Sydney to the $330mil NSW Gov. Building the Education Revolution (BER) Stimulus Package as a Systems Administrator.
This role is great as I get to work with most parts of the project, from implementing Safety Management Plans (SMP) in tenders, to payments and contract writing, ECS submissions to Dept of Commerce and bid evaluations. I am seeing many aspects of the project, and getting hands on experience in project cost reporting.

Until next blog!  Howyou goin?  Whatya drinkin?
