UNSW Built Environment Construction Management & Property: Jess Pascoe

20 08 2009

Last semester I was busy making all my new friends but now I have them I can concentrate on knuckling down and getting good grades.

Lectures are more enjoyable and they are quite interesting.  Four hours in a row is a bit of a killer, but we get lots of breaks so it’s not so bad. I study project management, construction and property economics, low rise residential construction and building structures. The subjects this semester are less general and therefore a bit more interesting then last semester, and also a bit more challenging.  I only have exams for two out of four of my subjects which is nice but means that I have to work hard on the assignments during semester.

I recently signed up for unigames, which are in the Gold Coast this September/October with 29 sports contested. Participants will compete in: Athletics, Australian Rules Football, Badminton, Baseball, Basketball, Beach Volleyball, Cycling, Fencing, Football, Golf, Handball, Hockey, Judo, Kendo, Lawn Bowls, Netball, Rugby Union 7’s, Softball, Squash, Surfing, Swimming, Table Tennis, Taekwondo, Tennis, Tenpin Bowling, Touch, Ultimate Frisbee, Volleyball and Water Polo.  I am very excited for that, however I will have to make sure that the week I’m away I don’t miss any important due dates or anything. All in all I’m enjoying round 2 of UNSW, the lecturers are good the work is interesting and the people are great.
